This restaurant is located in a restored, century-old authentic Cambodian wooden house, and some of the long-ago atmosphere still lingers on the premises. Chef Heng is an innovator in his field, who prepares fusion dishes that blend Khmer traditions with a whiff of international flavour. Sandan Cuisine wants to offer its tourists an exclusive dining experience, but that cannot be accomplished without fresh, quality ingredients.

As Sandan Cuisine promotes sustainability, the restaurant sources all its ingredients from the local family farms, although some herbs and vegetables are grown in the restaurant’s own garden.

Sandan Cuisine is, therefore, a good place to sample the traditional Khmer flavours in an elegant décor with quality music, either inside or on the top terrace. The staff is friendly, attentive, and very professional.

All the meals are stunningly presented and good value-for-money and the restaurant itself is well-run by a friendly owner, Sao Phalla, who is seen frequently conversing with the guests. You can try international classics like Egg Benedict for breakfast, wine by the glass during the afternoon, along with lots of coffee and shakes. Sandan’s speciality is a must-try, combining Beef Lok Lak with prawn and morning glory. Fish amok is another good choice, with its creamy and succulent mix of coconut cream and bar fish.
