Mahob is the Cambodian word for food so, if you want to experience the tangs and tastes of traditional Khmer food, Mahob Khmer has it all. A culinary hotspot for locals and tourists alike, the Mahob restaurant values freshness and savor.Your taste buds will be tempted with the best Cambodian meals, in a beautifully-decorated locale. Mahob is an oasis of tranquillity in the middle of the buzzing Pub Street, as the restaurant is guarded by tall trees. The garden is especially enchanting with its flower and lotus pod that builds a fairy-tale atmosphere. Set in a traditional wooden house, Mahob has an interesting history.
The original building belonged to a local governor in one of Angkor Thom’s districts, but restaurateur Sothea Seng has restored the elegant property in a traditional Khmer house. Decorated in the Khmer style, Mahob restaurant keeps some of its original details, like the carved-wooden leaf roof and blinds. The restaurant has a spacious wooden story section, while the ground floor boasts a contemporary design, perfect for the main dining room. A short walk away from the Siem Reap center and five minutes from the Angkor Wat temple complex, the Mahob restaurant is convenient for tourists and locals alike. You can enjoy a delicious meal, with organically-sourced ingredients from Mahob’s own vegetable farm. The menu comprises a wide selection of dishes, some of which are cooked on a “hot stone,” similar to the ancient Khmer volcanic stone.
You can select interesting local meals, such as deep-fried frog legs and fermented fish, or a dish with a Western tang, such as the salmon fillet. From appetizers, salads, soups, barbecue, main course, and fresh desserts, to soft drinks, smoothies, wine, beer, spirits and cocktails, the Mahob menu doesn’t leave anyone wanting. Although most of the dishes here have a pronounced Khmer or Asian signature, there are plenty of options for people who prefer the Western cuisine.
